“CIAC” Mission Statement

The mission of the Confederation of International Accreditation Commission (CIAC) is to significantly contribute in establishing and maintaining Better Business Practices in member organizations through evaluation of current practices and periodic consulting on improvement for benchmarking quality as an external rating and accrediting private agency, and to act as a major driving force for the development of quality assurance in most of the countries across all sectors.

Functioning as confederation for global quality assurance agencies through Better Business Practices, CIAC contributes to this goal especially by promoting global co-operation in the field of quality assurance (QA) in order to develop and share better business practices and to foster the global dimension of QA in General for the future development of the society at large.

 CIAC’s Purposes are Essentially Threefold:

  •  To represent its global members at the international level to improve working style, methodology and corporate culture, especially in decision making processes and in co-operations with stakeholder organizations;
  •  To function as a think tank for developing further quality assurance processes and systems in the CIAC;
  •  To function as a communication platform for sharing and disseminating information and expertise in quality assurance among members and towards stakeholders.

CIAC Fulfils its Mission by Adhering to the following Basic Principles:

CIAC respects the diversity of global business as a major cultural heritage and strength of the emerging global industrial power. It also respects the diversity of quality assurance & enhancement approache to setting-up national quality assurance systems for organizations across the globe.

CIAC acknowledges that the primary responsibility for quality rests with government of respective countries, however as an external quality assurance third party, CIAC operates to improve Better Business Practices in organizations as per international standards. It combines both accountability for the reassurance of the public and an objective and developmental role for enhancing quality in organizations. The role of national authorities is to define the given national QA setup and to ensure that the national QA system operates in harmony with the global network.

CIAC is committed to respect the fitness for purpose principle (purpose-process alignment) that is at the core of the global dimension of quality assurance.

CIAC considers the autonomy of organizations & institutions and independence of quality assurance agencies within national quality assurance systems as a necessary condition to ensure the full exercise of their responsibilities, notably with regard to the provision of accurate and consistent information to the general public.

“The mission of the CIAC Global Foundation in all is to contribute significantly to the maintenance and enhancement of Better Business Practices in organizations through periodic audits for continuous improvements for benchmarking quality as an external rating and accrediting private agency, and to act as a major driving force for the development of quality assurance across the globe.”
